Repertoire that fits adult practice

We choose music for the week you actually have—short études, clear solo movements, folk lines, and chamber cues that reward careful listening.

Foundations and études

Short studies keep the left hand honest and the bow responsive. We rotate material so you are not stuck on one book forever, but we also resist collecting too many unfinished pages. One étude done slowly beats five half-learned.

Baroque and classical lines

Adults often want Bach, Handel, or early classical repertoire. We pace movements so tone and intonation stay ahead of flash. Slow practice is treated as musical work, not punishment—especially for polyphony and string crossings.

Folk, film, and personal picks

If a melody brought you back to the instrument, we make room for it. Arrangement quality matters: we look for editions that teach clean bowings and readable keys. Personal repertoire is welcome when it supports technique rather than skipping it.

Chamber cues without a full orchestra

Many adult players want ensemble skills but cannot join a weekly youth-style program. We use duet books, recorded partner tracks when useful, and listening assignments so you hear how your line sits inside a texture.

Repertoire choices are reviewed every few months. If a piece is not serving your sound, we retire it kindly and move on. The goal is a living shelf of music you can return to with pride, not a trophy wall of abandoned titles.
